Location: Hybrid. You can work from your home, though you must be able to travel to our Farringdon, Central London office or client sites (mostly London) as required. This is likely to be once per week at the least.

About the role
As a Junior Consultant with Capacitas, you will be quickly utilised on client engagements, working as part of a project team with experienced and talented colleagues. You will most often be in a client facing role and the range of projects you work on will vary according to current demand and your professional development path. Typical projects include:
- Automating through use of DevOps capability
- Conducting systems risk management assessments
- Performance audits
- Designing performance test plans to address performance risk
- Demand forecasting / planning
- Development of capacity and performance models
- Proactive system monitoring to identify performance risks
- Looking for ways to reduce client money spent on IT performance
A day in the life of a Capacitas Junior Consultant includes:
- Working as part of a team and independently to carry out technical work for project delivery
- Participating in daily stand-up meetings with your project team
- Working within a talented and experienced team, constantly developing technical delivery skills and delivering independently
- Working with a project team, working efficiently to deliver to deadlines
- Building an internal and external network, proactively reaching out to engage colleagues and client contacts
- Identifying business opportunities for Capacitas within client account and more broadly where possible
- Professionally representing Capacitas in conversation with clients
- Preparing and participating in client presentations
- Identifying opportunities to innovate and improve efficiency or quality of our internal processes
- Following and, where appropriate, documenting company processes
- Using your technical capability to update IP to augment our existing processes

Technical - essential
- Have a computer science background
- Interest in and willingness to develop monitoring skills, including basic and complex metric understanding, and familiarity with monitoring agents
- Interest in and willingness to develop data analysis skills, including moving averages, CPU aggregation and normalising
- Interest in and willingness to develop development skills, including automation and coding
- Some understanding of IT infrastructure
- Interest in and willingness to develop capacity planning and modelling skills
- Interest in and willingness to develop cost optimisation skills
- At least intermediate excel skills for data analysis, with willingness to learn advanced excel skills
- At least intermediate powerpoint and word skills
Technical - Desirable
- Performance testing skills using HP, LoadRunner or Jmeter
- Performance test design
- Performance test automation skills
- Have interest in and knowledge of the cloud and DevOps, especially AWS and Azure environments and supporting containerisation, though not necessarily experience in working with these
- Have interest and knowledge in CI/CD processes and pipeline configuration using tools such as Jenkins
- Have interest and knowledge in cloud infrastructure setup using tools such as Cloud Formation and Terraform
- Have knowledge in VCS tools for storing and committing source code, such as GitHub

Qualifications
2.1 degree (or equivalent), or an advanced degree ideally in computing, or one of the following areas plus a demonstrated knowledge of computing:
- Sciences.
- Engineering.
- Mathematics.
OR
- 2.1 bachelors or advanced degree from any discipline + demonstrated desire and aptitude, proven through work experience, to work in tech
